I had been a member of Boxed Art for five years and also sold memberships to their service as an afffliate. I have dropped my membership (which is now $100.00 by the way) and will no longer sell their product after my first-hand experience with their poorly managed billing department and angry from the start customer service people who take three months to get back to you in the first place.

Boxed Art was a terrific resouce and value at one time. When I first joined it was $29.00 a year for full membership. Unfortunately, as they've raised their prices they've also lowered their service. I am disappointed to now have to say that people should avoid Boxed Art entirely. It may look like a deal at first, but when they lose your payment, claim not to receive support requests sent through their own form, attempt to cover up their billing mistakes and take an average of three months to reply to urgent help requests, the value goes down to sub levels.

Disgrunted Ex-Customer No Subject July 10th 2008 Rating: 2.00
Expect lots of spam from these guys even after you quit their program. They don't make it easy to unsubscribe from their incredibly frequent updates. There's no customer service number and they're slow as hell about answering email. Expect extreme sarcasm if you express displeasure about this as well.

STAY AWAY

The graphics on the new templates here are astonishingly good, however go to the last pages of most categorys and you will find graphics that are astonishingly bad. A membership based site needs both quality and quantity to be successful, and boxed art have found a good way to do this. Don't be put off by this though, have a look around what is available to members and you will find loads of great designs that you would pay the same price as 6 months membership here for on other sites.

The selection is ok, having tens of great templates for some categorys, but none for others. Markup on the templates I have downloaded was reasonably good, I could edit it quite quickly, unlike template monster templates.

Overall if you see a template you like buy the membership and download any templates you think you might ever need, it's well worth the money...

Anonymous Customer Service Sucks! July 13th 2005 Rating: 1.08
I've had problems logging in for days. I sent an email to support since this is the only way to contact them. No answer yet... When I log in, they don't even see my email address. I even checked my confirmation email for my password. The worst part, no one has answered my email for support to tell me they've even looked at it. Now, I'm sorry that I spent the $79 for an annual membership. I urge my fellow webmasters to forget Boxed Art and find someone else or do it yourself. They have no true CSS templates and their flash templates are using old Flash MX techniques. Whenever I load the files into my MX 2004, it says the source file is created on an old version of Flash. Not very cutting edge. The templates are also very similar... and as in the last review, the first 20 or 30 are ok, but the code is not that easy to work with and the other 100's of templates are AWFUL.

Anonymous Buyer Beware February 8th 2006 Rating: 1.06
BUYER BEWARE! The license of this template site specifically prohibits the use of their graphics for client work without making "significant" changes. In templates, changing text and swapping images is specifically mentioned as not being significant enough. The layout itself must be "significantly" changed to comply with their product license. (Good luck finding that info before you send $.) If I wanted to alter a template enough to make it completely something else, why on earth would I be using templates?

Jeff Completly Awesome! November 9th 2006 Rating: 0.07
Been a member for 2-3 years now and the value just keeps improving. about 85% of the templates are phenomenal. Sure there are some old ones in the back fro about 6 years ago, but so what? Does that mean the thousands of other stuff isn’t worth it because the stuff in the very back is old? They also have print materials that I've only seen on other sites for A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS EACH!!! I'm guessing I'd have paid about $30,000 for all the stuff I downloaded from BoxedArt for the peanuts I've paid to be a member, and the site is updated DAILY! Heaven forbid if i have to see a few old templates in the back of the site!
